Beer lovers are probably wondering what is the difference between draft and bottled beer.

Bottled beer has a shelf life of 90 days or more. If the shelf life of the drink indicated on the package exceeds the mark of 4 months, then the manufacturer has added preservatives. Unfortunately, not all of them are safe for the health of consumers.

Draft beer is also pasteurized, but in a different way - in-line. In this regard, it outperforms the bottled one that has undergone tunnel pasteurization. The finished product can be stored up to 30 days (if packaged in kegs). But after the draft beer has been poured into a plastic bottle, it should be consumed as soon as possible - preferably within 1-2 days.

One of the main differences between draft beer and bottled beer is the packaging. Draft beer is packed in kegs. Neither light nor air penetrates into them. It is impossible to add or dilute something here - this type of container excludes unauthorized opening.

Bottled beer can be in glass. Plastic packaging is considered the least successful for a drink. It transmits light (which is one of the main enemies of beer taste), oxygen, and carbon dioxide, which is in beer, gradually disappears.

Glass containers are better than polyethylene. The ideal bottle for storing beer is brown, a compromise option is green, a transparent bottle is most vulnerable to light. Unfortunately, during transportation, the packaging may be exposed to sunlight, and bottles with iron stoppers may open.

Which beer is better - draft or bottled

There is no clear answer to this question, since it all depends on taste, and the factors described above. Draft beer lovers value for aroma, freshness, taste. Beer in bottles and cans is more convenient to transport and store.
